Dental Implants

Dental Implants are changing the way people live!  With them, people are rediscovering the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh and enjoy life.

dental-implantsDental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel and function like natural teeth.  A patient who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved.   Implants mirror the size and shape of a patient’s natural roots. The implants and the teeth they replace and support are often as strong as the patient’s original teeth. In addition, implants don’t suffer from decay, periodontal disease or need root canal treatment. Dental Implants can help preserve bone deterioration which occurs when teeth lost remain missing.

Evaluation for Dental Implants

If, like many others, you feel implant dentistry is the choice for you, we ask that you undergo a dental/radiographic examination and health history.  During these consultation visits, your specific needs and considerations will be addressed by Drs. Mogelof.  Your questions and concerns are important to us and our team will work with you very closely to help make your procedure a success.

Dental Implant Procedure

For most patients, the placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. The first step is the actual placement of the dental implant (titanium) into the jawbone. This procedure is often completed with local anesthesia (novocaine) but we also offer oral sedation to make our patients as comfortable as possible.  This implant then heals and fuses with your bone. Once the healing process is complete, the implant can be fitted with a single tooth, become part of a bridge or support a full or partial denture.

This entire surgical-restorative process generally takes anywhere from four to eight months, or longer depending upon the complexity of the treatment goals. There are many temporary prosthesis available and Drs Mogelof will select the type that will allow you to function comfortably during the healing period.

Engineering and enhancements to the implant and the surgical and restorative techniques have enabled us to expand its usefulness and provide a wide range of solutions. Patients are happy and comfortable and can eat and smile as they did when they had their original healthy teeth. You will be too!!!!!
