Your First Visit

It starts with a conversation.

Your first visit is our opportunity to get to know you—not just your teeth. We’ll talk about your health, dental history, concerns, and what you’d like to accomplish.

Your doctor will then complete a comprehensive evaluation of your oral health, which may include digital X-rays, photographs, a digital scan, and an examination of your teeth, gums, and bite.

What about my cleaning?

We know many new patients expect to have their teeth cleaned at their first appointment. At Mogelof Dental, we believe your care should begin with understanding what you need—not assuming it.

Not everyone needs the same type of hygiene care. We first evaluate the health of your gums and supporting tissues to determine what’s appropriate for you.

If a routine cleaning is right for you, we often reserve time with one of our hygienists immediately following your examination so that, whenever possible, your cleaning can be completed that same day.

If we identify signs of periodontal disease or other concerns, we’ll explain what we see and recommend the appropriate care before moving forward.

What happens next?

We’ll review what we find, answer your questions, and discuss any recommendations. If treatment is needed, we’ll explain your options and develop a plan together.

There’s no pressure to make decisions before you understand them.
